Starting out as a partnership with Pitchfork, Director ID has been a significant platform for understanding the role of directors in the contemporary music industry, celebrating the intersection of music and film, and showcasing the talent behind music videos that set cultural trends.

The series stands out for its intimate format and for the creative agency each director gets. Each episode is a deep dive into their world, guided by themselves.

In each episode, a director films themselves answering a few of our questions in their own idiosyncratic way, whether with a camera attached to a fork, from a hundred meters away from the camera or going for a walk in the woods and breaking a leg mid interview.
