Back at the premiere of 'Long Way From Home' in Passos Manuel, in a conversation with the musician David Bruno, Sobreiro (the director of this film) has asked him how was the year of concerts with his project Conjunto Corona. There was no hesitation: Tremor was the highlight, some sort of delirium, an experience that can be somewhat compared to that famed one in Las Vegas. From then on, having this image of 'fear and loathing' in mind, the title was a driving point to create this film.

As if this picturesque scenery was not enough, every year the island invites its locals and guests for a unique experience at TREMOR festival.

São-Miguel-in-Azores

Located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, São Miguel is the largest island in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores and it's known for breathtaking landscapes, astonishing views of geysers, lakes and geothermal hot springs.

TREMOR is a music festival that takes place in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, and brings an interdisciplinary programe of concerts, exhibitions, film screenings and community projects. With other artistic and cultural activities, it aspires to push forward creative potential of Azores. Tremor appeared in 2014 and since then our team has always dreamed of catching a glimpse of it. But some dreams take time, right? So it was only in 2018 that we have managed to come, and not exactly for a vacation.

Tremor mirrors its surroundings, a dreamy misty delirium that has kept on nourishing our imagination to create its visual record.

FEAR AND LOATHING AND PARTY IN LAS PONTA DELGADA

is a result of our gatherings at Tremor, a portrayal of sometimes mundane landscapes blending with dances and sounds. Located in a remote place, its surroundings were indeed an important source of inspiration, a breath of fresh air from the common scene. It's not just one more festival, it's an experience like no other. An indescribable fusion of nature and artistic expression. An immersion into a spirit of community that goes against the trend of merely making events ever bigger. As these festival's venues are far from being common, it is a unique journey around the island through the secret gigs, a discovery in every corner.

It is in festivals like this that you can spot Dinho from Boogarins at a Parkinsons' concert. Or Casper from Liima chatting in the middle of the crowd by the entrance door. Curiously, they have both stated that many musicians have often no idea where and at what festival they are playing. But at Tremor it is different. The organisation makes an effort for artists to stay as long as possible so that they can truly embrace the spirit of their surroundings.

Diogo Lima, the storyteller.

Diogo-Lima

For those who may not know, Diogo Lima is one of the most iconic characters of Tremor. One can not really imagine the festival without the peculiar humour of his videos.

Show some cool, happy people. Those who had to spend a great deal of money to catch a flight and come here for some concerts. Just don't show those touristic postcards. They already know it's beautiful, in the middle of nowhere ... and full of cows. In fact, it's not what really matters

- said Diogo Lima and we did it.

We confess we have come with some expectations. But what happened is that the reality has exceeded them all. Tremor might be a music festival, but there is definitely so much more about it.
