Let us tell you how our tv channel works
In depth articles and films that delve into social topics by amplifying independent new voices
A series about the creators defining the rules of creativity today
THE IMPORTANCE OF COLLABORATIONS
The collaborative process has always been the core of Canal180’s identity.
In 2014, we made a partnership with Chicago’s leading music publication Pitchfork, to develop two original series.
Recently, we partnered with We are Europe, an association of 8 major European events, to develop a series of films, that aim to build a conversation around the future of today’s society.
Collaboration with cultural entities like the British Council, Gulbenkian, Serralves, Casa da Música, or MAAT, are opportunities to establish our discourse and have access to an already identified cultural audience.
BUILDING A COMMUNITY
Canal180 aims to construct a real community of artists
Identifying new and established artists through the 180ID series. Making a clear moment of gathering with 180 Creative Camp, where off the wall connections are made, promoting working partnerships and lay foundations for a next generation of creators.
WE HAVE A HISTORY
Canal180 started broadcasting on April 2011.
Over the last decade, Canal180 became not only a TV channel, but morphed into an ecosystem of broadcast, events, screenings and social media communication, delivering a multilayered discourse about worldwide cultural topics.
JOINING THE GLOBAL CONVERSATION
WE HAVE CHANGED
In 2018, Canal180 decided to shift its focus from individualities to society issues.
As an outlet, we don’t impose our view, but choose to amplify new voices that create a discourse.
By making connections between artists and thinkers, musicians and activists, we aim to transform our areas of interest into specific themes, trying to find the pivotal questions in society and offering a clear and alternative point of view.
By partnering with institutions like We Are Europe, we are part of a bigger discourse, with access to a network of independent thinkers that shape the European discourse of the future.
To the virtuous confluence of network and themes we call — the Other Stories.
