El Guincho

Was Born Pablo Díaz-Reixa in the Canary Islands, but we all met him by El Guincho. In December 2007, promised come to stay,when appears with the first album, Alegranza. Since then compared to Panda Bear’s Person Pitch the disc earned to El Guincho several favorable reviews and precious positions at SXSW and Pitchfork Music Festival.

At 14, Diaz-Reixa decided to leave home and move to Continental Europe, where he wanted to concentrate on sports careers. Failed attempt, then went live to Barcelona and started playing drums in several bands, including Coconut that joined with his guitarist cousin. And it is thanks to the tour he made with coconut, in 2006, that the idea of ​​El Guincho came up. Mixtures of samples incorporating elements ranging from afrobeat, to dub, Tropicália and the rock and roll, and are added to the voice of the musician.
More recently, in 2010, El Guincho released another EP, Pirates of Southamerica, and an album, Pop Negro.
